dreaming about taking a fat nap
Good morning my muses,
Sleeping is something I take for granted, but I look forward to it every night. That's because every night in my sleep, I'm met with vivid cinematic dreams that are so entertaining. Most of the time, when I wake up, I don't even remember what the dream consisted of. Sometimes, I try to play it back and all the inconsistencies become very apparent. It's funny how dream logic feels right in the moment but makes no sense when I'm awake.
There's a thing called lucid dreaming, where you are conscious while dreaming or you are aware you are dreaming. I'm not sure if I've ever experienced this but it's a very interesting phenomenon. Honestly anything to do with the subconscious mind is really interesting.
After a long day of school, I usually take a nap. A nap can go one of two ways for me: it lasts for hours (like 4-5) and I usually have to wake up because my mum is calling me down for dinner and I wake up feeing so disorientated and groggy thinking it's already the next morning; or it lasts for around an hour and I have the best dream ever and wake up feeling pretty refreshed. Although I love my naps, they kinda mess up my sleep schedule. By bedtime, I don't feel that tired and can't fall asleep until at least an hour after I've gone to bed, but then I wake up feeling so tired due to the lack of sleep the previous night and have to go through the day being sleep deprived. And then when I get home I take a nap because I'm exhausted and the whole cycle repeats itself lol. I wish there was a switch where I could automatically fall asleep. The worst feeling is lying in bed trying to sleep but it just will not happen, especially when there's something important the next day. My brain needs to realise that it does not need to prioritise overthinking over sleeping...
Hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading,
