fictional characters > real life

 Happy Monday my muses,

I just finished my practice essay for English that was meant to be done a week ago! I still have to do the practice AC but that's for another time. It's the last week of year 11 classes and I don't have any motivation to do the work or even study for my exams. I just want it to be transition week already. Actually I just want to fast forward to the holidays. School is a bit of a bore right now (isn't it always) but this weather is making me feel a lot better. I feel like my mood is heavily influenced by the weather but it might also be other factors like how we are deep into the school year in winter but by summer we are practically done. Though, I'd like to think that the cloudless blue skies and the warm weather is what makes my mood better :D

Earlier this year, I read a series called 'The Raven Cycle'. It consists of 4 books: 'The Raven Boys', 'The Dream Thieves', 'Blue Lily, Lily Blue' and 'The Raven King'. I can not begin to put into words how much this series impacted me. The first book had me straight away with its interesting plot and even more interesting characters. I couldn't put the book down, it was that good. The characters are a group of friends and their dynamics just drew me in. It felt like they were my best friends and by the time the last book ended, I felt so sad because I had to accept that it was over. There's nothing like reading a series/book you love for the first time. It's kind of beautiful how we can feel so attached to a fictional world and its characters. With this type of connection to a story, every decision a character makes or every event that takes place feels more intensified. That's what makes the books I love so special to me. They make me feel so strongly and I chase for that feeling in every new book I read, hoping it can be my new obsession. While we are on the topic of obsessions, my most favourite of all time is the To All the Boys I've Loved Before series. It ticks off everything I want for a comfort series. The books are so easy to devour and the movies are so comforting with the colour scheme and soundtrack. I've reread and rewatched this series an embarrassing amount of times LOL. Lara Jean and Peter have my whole heart <3

Okay it's getting kinda late now and I have school tomorrow so I will end this post there. See you in the next one!
