the start of the end

Hello beautiful muses,

I'm currently at school, in my private study period. It's fourth period so the day is basically over for me. Today was the first day of Yr12 Transition. We met some of our new teachers and classes annnnd got our new jackets!!

I was scared to go to my new classes because I didn't know if I would have any friends in them or not. Luckily, I had a couple friends in all my classes today so everything was fine. My first class was chemistry and it went fine... honestly chem is my least favourite subject and I regret not dropping it. Oh well it's too late for that now! After chem, I had accounting and then for period 3 I had maths. I think out of all my classes today, maths was my favourite. My teacher is so organised and on top of everything it's great. I also already finished the set work for today and I actually understood how to do everything (and managed to do it all correctly). I can't wait to meet the rest of my classes tomorrow!

I mentioned that we got our Yr12 jackets today. We had to wait in this huuge line to get it and it took forever. But I have it on now and it's pretty cosy! The jacket is a bit bigger than I expected and the sleeves are soo long on me but I love it nonetheless. I can't believe we've reached this stage of high school, everything is going by so quick. 

That's it for my transition day 1 recap! Not sure if I will be doing this for every day but today seemed extra special as we got our jackets.

goodbye sixteen

Salutations my beloved muses,  I’m back with another post because I’m just brimming with ideas ;D I was listening to ‘The Exit’ by Conan Gray, an artist I really love, and I always come back to this song because 1) it’s really good, 2) Superache, the album it’s on, is one of my all time favourite albums, and 3) there is a line in the beginning of the song that goes “mid November, and I’m sippin’ on a half cold coffee starin’ at a girl who’s not me on your arm, a carbon copy.” This line sticks out to me not only because of the beautiful songwriting but also because my birthday is in mid November. It’s on the 14th (tomorrow!!) which isn’t exactly the middle but close enough. Because of this, I interpret the line as “staring at a girl who’s not me” (the girl I was one year ago), “a carbon copy” (she’s still me, just with one less year of experience). Obviously this isn’t the intended meaning of the line when it was written but it’s quite beautiful how people can perceive the same thin...
