when will time just stop
Hello my muses,
It's been quite the while since I've last written a blog post, so long that we are already in the second half of the year. There's much to catch you up on!! It's currently the LAST day of school holidays and I am TERRIFIED for tomorrow. Though, at this point, I couldn't care less about school. Jokes, mostly. My mindset to get through this is that next year, when I'm happily in uni, nothing this year will matter. If I convince myself of that, maybe I'll get by unscathed. Let's see. You bet I'm going to cry when I get my ATAR though. Sad or happy tears? I don't know.
I'm going to set this up in sections because there is a lot to cover.
TERM TWO RECAP
So, this term flew by so fast. Faster than the term before. I had a sac basically every week until the last few which felt like bliss. But I also started to slack off on studying. Despite my academic struggles, there were many events that made the term really fun. In the last post, I was stressing over formal and I can happily report that I found a pretty nice dress and formal itself was really fun. It feels like a fever dream though because it went by so fast. The sleepover afterwards, at Celine's, was also a highlight of the day. We also had the GAT last term, which I forgot about because it's lowkey insignificant. It was a pretty chill day despite the long test hours. We played lots of cards and hung out with friends during the break which made me forget why we were at school in the first place. Finally, we had our second community focus day with the theme for yr12s being pj day which was so cute and cosy. I got to bring Hannah, my baby, and I think it was her first time being at high school.
So, that's a wrap for term two. We've got another term to go until we are basically done with classes as term four ends early in preparation for exams. I think things will start getting very busy here on out. For starters, production is ramping up since we are performing NEXT MONTH. I'm excited and scared, but also sad since it'll be our last time performing here. Urgh but the amount of sacs I have lined up next term scares me. I legit have three in the first week and then another three in the following two weeks. I try not to think about it and kinda procrastinated the whole holidays. But I feel okay for my sacs... for now.
CURRENT MEDIA FIXATIONS
I know KPOP Demon Hunters is taking the world by storm but the hype is so deserved. I didn't really know what to expect when going into the movie but by the end, I was a changed woman. The music was peak, the animation was perfect and the humour was genuinely funny. People don't watch it because of it's name and being an animated kids movie, but it exceeds all that with it's deep storyline and thoughtful characterisation. Needless to say, I love this movie.
I recently finished Sunrise on the Reaping, Haymitch's story in the Hunger Games universe (thank you James for lending it to me). It took me a while to get into it, since it was the first book I picked up in aggggesss. However, I quickly got transported into the setting and binged it in a night. There was something so devastating about this book that wasn't felt with the others (granted, I haven't read the Lucy Gray one yet). I was a lot more attached to all the tributes so their eventual demise hurt bad. By the end of the book I was SOBBING. Everything was just so tragic and really added more depth to the original trilogy. Also, there were so many connections woven throughout the book which was really satisfying in a way.
Well, that's about it for this post. Even though we've got school tomorrow, it hasn't hit me that the school holidays are over. It never really felt like they started. There have been some fun moments despite the procrastination (and also my parents lowkey grounding me). I went to a party where Reebs and I put on some magical sunnies, our friend group had a lil movie and games day at Foo Anne's, Seth hosted a cute cooking day where we made Korean dishes and I had a sleepover with family friends. I can not wait for the day my last exam is over and I can truly have a relaxing holiday, especially since it will be Summer. Winter is not my vibe 💔
If you made it this far, thanks for reading 💗
